Iwakura Naotomo (岩倉尚具)

Naotomo IWAKURA (1737 - February 11, 1799) was a retainer of the Imperial Court during the middle of the Edo period. He became Sahyoe no suke (assistant captain of the left division of middle palace guards) at the rank of Shogoinoge (Senior Fifth Rank, Lower Grade) (conferred Jushii (Junior Fourth Rank) posthumously). His father was Takamasa UEMATSU. His foster father was Tsunetomo IWAKURA. His mother is unknown. He called himself Gensui-in.

He inherited the line of the Iwakura family and was conferred to a peerage as well, but he adopted his younger brother, Noritomo IWAKURA, as his son, and had Noritomo inherited the family line and then started his retired and quiet life.
